Dickinson College
On Friday evening, TCP played a concert at Dickinson College, a quaint gem of a liberal arts college in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The college is an unassuming mecca for contemporary music in America. New music powerhouse Alarm Will Sound spent three formative years in residence at the college, performing concerts and interacting with the students in and out of the classroom. We had a delightful, albeit much briefer, visit to the campus and to Carlisle. Friday morning we performed music by John Cage and TCP member David Skidmore for students at Carlisle High School, who proved to be a lively and curious bunch at 9am. That evening we performed Cage and Skidmore in addition to music by Philippe Manoury, Peter Garland and TCP’s other composer/member Clay Condon.
Our next big project is TCP’s 2nd concert of our Chicago Concert Season, featuring the premiere of a new half-hour piece from New York composer/drummer David T. Little. We’ll be posting a video with more info on this epic and haunting new piece from David in the next few days
